Flow Cytometry and cell sorting is a highly interdisciplinary field which requires knowledge of biology, biochemistry, physics, optics, mechanics, electronics, statistics, and data analysis. It is a fast growing field. Based on a market report, the global flow cytometry market is expected to reach $3.7 billion by 2018, at a compound annual growth rate of 10% from 2013 to 2018. The number of publications in this field is growing at a rate of more than 10,000 papers per year since 2010. The purpose of this session is to introduce flow field to SDPS as a multidisciplinary application.
